Halal US Beef Re-enters Malaysian Market |

KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- Auric Pacific Group Ltd expects its Malaysian subsidiary, Auric Chun Yip Sdn Bhd, to reach a sales turnover of RM1 million a month by year end for its halal Midamar US beef.
This is based on the projected supply of 10 metric tonnes a month to hotels and restaurants, Auric Pacific chairman Albert Cheok said today.
"There has been pent up demand for US beef... Malaysians are now able to enjoy it again since its ban three years ago," he told reporters at the launch of the Midamar US beef here.

This is based on the projected supply of 10 metric tonnes a month to hotels and restaurants, Auric Pacific chairman Albert Cheok said today.
"There has been pent up demand for US beef... Malaysians are now able to enjoy it again since its ban three years ago," he told reporters at the launch of the Midamar US beef here.
According to Cheok, the product has been distributed in Malaysia since three months ago at several hotels and restaurants.
"We are also looking at the possibility of distributing it at hypermarkets... but maybe we will start with the smaller supermarkets first," he added.
Listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange, the Group is a leading distributor of fast-moving consumer food and non-food products with operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China.
Cheok said it has been the distributor for Midamar Corp since it began complying with the Malaysian halal regulations.
