MELBOURNE, May 12 (Bernama) -- A second professional development programme for the franchise industry, initiated by the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) in collaboration with Perbadanan Nasional Bhd's (PNS) will begin in Kuala Lumpur next month.
The programme is supported by Australia-wide Business Training (ABT).
"Franchising is a dynamic small business sector and is expanding rapidly in numerous business and industry sectors throughout Malaysia," Chan Wee Keat, national president of the Australia-Malaysia Business Council said.
"Professional development and learning programmes are regarded as a key component of the franchise industry's future success and growth," Chan, an Adelaide-based accountant, said.
Last month, the first 15 students graduated after completing the Certified Professional Franchise Managers Programme - Malaysia (CPFMP) in Kuala Lumpur.
ABT has licensed its material to MIM for use in the programme.
"CPFMP has been developed for people seeking a career in franchising with the skills and knowledge vital for their success in this growing and vibrant industry," Australia-wide Business Training chief executive Larry Gould said.
The inaugural programme was delivered in Kuala Lumpur in March/April over 12 days by ABT professional development facilitator Carmel Ackerly.
The next programme will start in a few weeks.
